Protect your valuables against loss or theft.
What you consider a “valuable” is personal to you – but whether you collect diamonds, Fenders, or furs, it is important to contemplate an insurance endorsement or floater that covers their full cost if lost, stolen or damaged. Standard homeowners, condominium or renters insurance policies include a limited amount of coverage for jewelry and other valuable items.
However, many policies limit the dollar amount of coverage for the theft or loss due to a covered peril of such items. To properly protect certain types of valuables, additional coverage is available through a policy endorsement or floater. Make sure to include a list of the items you’d like additional coverage for, and their appraised value when discussing them with your representative.
